This week, an Olas-branded campaign launched on the streets of New York City. It’s built around one simple idea: there are things in life that AI cannot, and perhaps should not, do for us.
Caregiving, supporting our friends and family, celebrating the power of teamwork: a better relationship with AI should give us more time for these things, not try to take them over.
Emotional intelligence, judgement, intuition, taste, leadership, and presence are uniquely human attributes that give us purpose. Each ad takes that idea somewhere specific — a role, an activity, or a quality that is uniquely, beautifully human.
The copy uses CAPTCHA-style typography as a familiar reference to an everyday moment where we’re asked to “prove we’re not a robot,” and as a visual metaphor for the existential moment we’re all navigating.
“AI could never apologize and mean it.”
“AI can’t replace me as the Tooth Fairy.”
“AI could never hold your hand.”
“AI can’t replace me as eldest sister.”

These are just some of the messages that are running now. And to be clear: this is not an anti-AI campaign. Far from it.
It’s clear that AI is the most transformative technology of our lifetimes. It can already help us think, make, build, and move faster than we ever could alone. But not everything in life needs that kind of optimization. Ethics, connection, responsibility, instinct, and creativity: these are things that humans, at our best, excel at. This campaign is about making that visible.
Olas was built on the belief that AI should work for people, not replace them. The agents running on Olas are owned by the people and organizations who use them. They are not rented from a faceless corporation that can arbitrarily change terms, grant others access to your personal data, discontinue the product, or put shareholder value above your relationship with your AI.
The campaign runs across 22 locations in Manhattan from April 6 through May 6. If you see one of these street ads, it would be great to hear from you: what could AI never do in your place? What makes you and those you love irreplaceable in this moment of profound change?
